The political influence of the Vatican began long ago in the days of Kings. More recently ease of transport & communication has encouraged residency with a view to world Government options for the native country of ordinary men & women put through bible college.
The Vatican has no right to political statements because they are against Jesus, who never criticised authority & hid himself when they tried to make him King. Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar & to God what belongs to God he said. Which meant he had no interest in the Government, only social behaviour.
The Holy See will be put to death along with the Opus Dei for judging for cash & the interest of nations & not God.
