I have not seen a serious counter measure on a Ship. Submarines deny landing of troops & are foremost in Naval defence. Twelve Amur would dominate the Gulf of Oman in a US conflict with Iran & Seven protect Venezuela.

Send a Tanker for Africa to resupply, also troops at short notice. If you've hit the Airfields & encampments then sunk the US fleet (5000 km range) resupply isn't essential.
Towing
Larger Submarines can take short range Subs with them to the US for example. War is easy far away.
