The Metal Boxes appear to detonate Localised Nuclear Bombs, who's purpose can only be Nuclear Conflict. Given that decoys are common here, there are several evidences that there is one in the sealed Garden tomb & One beneath a 6ft sq metal plate next to the River Corner Box.
